We went out to lunch at Cafe Aroma, and Jack was playing in the sun. Lisa snuck a finger in and rubbed his little neck- his eyes closed and he became very still.

He almost fell asleep.
Once she was done, he was back to his game of spoons and straws.

Nancy's party was a successful surprise. We had a lot of help.

I didn't get any pictures of Momzup, but she was there.

We ate at the Elephant Bar for dinner.
I would eat there everyday.

On Tuesday, the 26th of February, Mom Tate braved the long air trip to come and visit. We drove down to Santa Monica, where her Vermont clothes were too warm for th early Spring weather. I let the kids ride on the merry-go-round at the pier.



They loved it.

Jack needed a haircut. The top is too long. His bangs fall into his eyes.
I gave him an orange and set him on the table.

Lisa mocked my end product, but I think he looks cute...and less hairy.

He wanted to take his own pictures.
Lucy liked it, too.

It looked better after he had his hair washed.

Lisa and I made a break for Hemet on Wednesday- Jack desperately needed a diaper change, so Lisa kept Lucy.
Upon returning, I saw Lucy flipping Lisa the bird. She had a cut, and it, "had blood."
She probably would have shown a lot of interested people at Target, but Lisa and I didn't let her.

Nine months old, all Jack wants to do is stand up. He can't get there on his own, but he'll stay as long as he doesn't lean too far to one side or the other.

He's very proud of the standing. He has five teeth now, and can say "dada" and "mama" and the "uh" part of uh-oh. Sometimes "mama" sounds more like "nana," but it means ME.

He's cutting another tooth, and is, therefore, a snot monster. This is his first time wearing these handsome p.j.s from his Aunt Sandy. Bowden said, "I like your motorcycles, Jacky!"
