It is the strangest thing to encounter wildlife in the middle of a city- even a suburban part of the city. The V.A. hospital is right in the middle of North Hills, and is surrounded for miles by the tangle of six-lane streets and track housing...yet there they were, sleeping on the grass 20 feet from the fence and busy road- coyotes.
We saw them on our way to Target, and I decided that on the way back I would stop and take pictures...so I pulled off into the left-turn lane and stopped. It wasn't until I asked them casually what they were doing there that one got up and moved.

The intersection of Plummer and Haskell isn't really busy at 1:30pm, but by 5 or 6 it's crazy. The V.A. takes up the entirety of the block, so it is a fairly expansive property. Still. It's strange.
Bowden wanted to get out and go closer, but really, we were in the middle of the street, and they were wild animals. Aunt Rosie took this picture as we sat watching them.

Yes, on THE hill- in North Hills. I can't figure out any way they could've gotten there without crossing at least a mile of paved streets and neighborhoods?????
