Arizona is hot. We are here visiting our good friends the Irvings- Chad and Tricia and Isabella- and it's been really wonderful. They are the most outstanding hosts ever.
To escape the heat, Tricia took Lisa and the kids and me to Pecos Park, a public park with a wading pool rivaled only by Raging Waters in San Dimas. The kids loved it, but I only got pictures as we were leaving, so Lucy is wailing in all of them. This is Isabella warming up in the 104 degree weather.
Lucy wailing as she gazes at her beloved water.
More wailing.
Bowden and Bella relaxing.
Bowden liked having a lounge all to himself.
Wailing as we walk away.

And more as she sees again the pipes that send out water.
Getting their feet wet for the last time, and not wailing.

I let them play on the outside equipment briefly because of how excellent the giant rattlesnakes and gila monsters were.
See- there they are!
The way to survive in Arizona is to soak yourself often, which we did yesterday.
When we got to the car to drive home, our car was beeping like R2-D2 and wouldn't start, so we got gas and called triple A, and then Tricia told me to try again-I did, and it started, and it turns out that the problem is the battery...God definitely protected us- it seems like we broke down in the best of circumstances, with little worry.
We leave today...sadly...but it's been wonderful.
